Start with sources you can check
For Canadian card terms, our standard requires current issuer documents: rewards rules, fee schedules, offer conditions and insurance certificates, as relevant. For explanations of Canadian consumer-finance rules, we prefer government and regulator sources. Guides link to the material used so you can check the explanation yourself.
A review date records when the cited material was checked; it doesn't guarantee an offer is still available. Before applying, check the issuer's current terms. The issuer decides eligibility and approval.
Separate examples from offers
A made-up card can make a calculation easier to follow. We label those examples as illustrative and state their assumptions, so you don't mistake a teaching example for an available offer. Comparisons should show the cost of annual fees and explain what could change the result.
The Card Finder uses calculation rules to estimate results from your spending. Its comparison methodology explains the assumptions, coverage and limits. An estimate isn't a promise of future savings.
Be clear about AI assistance
We use AI tools to help research, draft and revise guides. Our editorial standard requires checking source claims and arithmetic, then reading the complete article for clarity and continuity. AI output isn't a source of financial facts on its own.
A WealthGeist byline identifies the publisher. It does not mean a licensed financial professional wrote or reviewed the article. “Reviewed” refers to the checks described here, which may be assisted by AI; it does not imply independent expert review. Guides provide general education, not personal financial advice.
Keep payment separate from the explanation
A commission must not determine which card an article recommends or which drawbacks it explains. A recommendation needs to say who it suits and under what assumptions. We may earn money from some application links; our affiliate disclosure explains how that works.
Help us correct something
If a fee is wrong, a link is broken or an explanation doesn't make sense, email support@wealthgeist.com with the page address and the detail to check. An issuer or government source helps us verify a correction. Please don't send statements, account numbers or other private financial information.
Our process requires verifying the affected claim, revising the explanation and recording the review. Dates should reflect actual checks or changes, rather than advancing automatically to make content look fresh.
