What is processed
We process your spending and calculate rewards on your device to help keep your information private. We use the totals you enter or the dates, amounts, merchants, currencies and categories in the CSV, OFX or QFX files you choose.
We can estimate interest costs from interest charges in your uploads, or a balance and rate you enter. You can edit these estimates or exclude interest. This calculation stays on your device and follows the same saving and clearing choices as your spending.
What is not sent
- Statement files or raw rows
- Transaction amounts, dates, account numbers or card digits
- Manual category or merchant totals
- Analyzer results
- Individual transactions in usage analytics
Your files and amounts are not sent to WealthGeist, an AI service, an advertiser or a card issuer.
Optional assistance
When available, optional assistance and basic usage analytics start on when you select Start my comparison, unless previously declined or disabled in Privacy choices at the bottom of the start page before beginning. Browser no-tracking preferences keep analytics off. You can change either option later in Privacy & saving and still compare cards.
With optional assistance on, we may receive recognized store names and basic file details, such as column labels, the card selected and corrections to column matches. For example, AI can help identify a clothing store. We use this to improve your categories and future matching.
We do not send your files, raw transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, account details or results. Personal transfers, e-transfers, payroll, payments, and sensitive personal details stay strictly on your device. When commercial store names are not yet covered in our on-device Canadian catalog, the commercial brand name is cleaned (with account numbers, reference hashes, store numbers, and personal details removed) so AI can estimate its category and expand the public catalog for future visitors.
AI services may process information outside Canada and use submitted information to improve their services; authorized reviewers may see it. That is why we limit what we send. AI can make mistakes. You can change categories, and AI never decides which rewards an issuer will pay.
Turn Optional assistance off in Privacy & saving on Your cards, Spending, Review or Results to stop new AI and import-improvement requests. Turning it off does not recall information already sent. Permission for optional assistance lasts in this tab for up to 24 hours, including reloads, after an explicit choice. The analyzer is for people in Canada who are legal adults where they live. Existing unexpired opt-outs are respected. Saving an analysis may keep categories already used in its estimates.
We mark generic improvement proposals for deletion after 180 days and aggregate service measurements after 90 days. Deletion may take additional time. A category learned for a sanitized public store name may remain in our shared catalog to improve future matching. You can correct an AI suggestion; AI categories can be wrong. These records do not contain your transaction history. Website delivery services may still receive the technical information described in our Privacy Policy.
Session lifetime
Your spending entries, parsed transactions, corrections and results stay in this tab’s session storage by default. Refreshes and navigation keep your work. Closing the tab normally ends the session, though your browser’s restore feature may retain it.
Remember on this device for 7 days is optional. It saves a device copy with a fixed expiry that ordinary use does not extend. Expired copies are ignored and removed on access; a closed website cannot erase them in the background. An open analysis can continue in its tab. Older indefinite copies are preserved until you choose a storage option or clear them. Storage failures display a warning.
Use the analyzer's clear-data control to remove the saved analysis, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. This does not delete statement files you downloaded to your device. Saved analysis belongs to this website address and does not automatically transfer to another WealthGeist address or device.
Browser limits
Your browser and operating system may retain a downloaded source file, tab snapshot, or ordinary browser history outside WealthGeist's control. Use a private browsing window on a shared device and remove downloaded statements when you no longer need them.
